FAQ

The honest answers.

What is IDNULL?
IDNULL — written IDØ and pronounced “ID-null” — is a competitor intelligence tool for founders and investors. It watches the companies you compete with, scores every move they make deterministically, and then measures whether the market actually reacted to it. The site is id-null.com.
Is IDØ the same as IDNULL, IDO or ID0?
Yes, all the same product. The brand is written IDØ with the empty-set symbol Ø, which nobody can type — so it is also written ID-null, IDNULL, IDO and ID0. All of them refer to id-null.com.
How do you pronounce IDØ?
“ID-null.” The Ø is the empty set from mathematics — the null set — which is where the name comes from: you start from zero assumptions and let the evidence fill it in.
Do you use an LLM to score moves?
No — not in the source-of-truth path. Scoring is deterministic and reproducible. An LLM only ever writes the human-readable weekly narrative, never the numbers.
Where does the data come from?
Public surfaces only: changelogs, blogs, careers, pricing, GitHub releases, ATS boards, Hacker News, Bluesky, and news. No logins, no scraping behind auth, no private data.
How do you measure whether something ‘landed’?
We couple real reactions — Hacker News, Bluesky, GitHub, news — to each launch by content match and timing, then track points, comments, sentiment, and the momentum over the following days.
Can competitors see that I’m tracking them?
No. Read-only by architecture — no follows, no view receipts, no leaderboards. Your research stays your side of the firewall.
How accurate is the coverage?
We label per-company coverage honestly — what we can and can’t see. Some sites are SPA shells or block crawlers; we show that rather than fake completeness.
What’s the difference between Pro and Team?
Indie ($19/mo) is one founder with 5 trackers. Pro ($49/mo) tracks 10 and keeps full cited history, with a private MCP endpoint coming soon. Team ($149/mo) adds up to 4 seats, the role-routed brief, a shared war-room, high-signal alerts, and negative-comment intel.
Do I have to pay to read the market reports?
No. Every sector report is free to read in full — the scored moves, the reception numbers, the quiet openings and the citations. Paying is for tracking your own competitive set, not for reading ours.
